EPSMP Campaign | Bangladesh
In January 2026, CLEAN, BWGED, and partner organizations launched a nationwide campaign calling for a fair, sustainable, and renewable-focused energy transition in Bangladesh. The campaign challenged the fossil fuel–biased Energy and Power Sector Master Plan (EPSMP) and called for a people-centered national energy plan that prioritizes renewable energy, transparency, participation, and climate resilience.Key demands included: cancel the fossil fuel–biased EPSMP, revise the national energy plan to prioritize renewables, stop new coal, LNG, and gas-based power projects, ensure transparent and participatory decision-making, and promote sustainable, climate-resilient energy solutions.
