GREEN ENERGY OLYMPIAD 2026
Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP), Dhaka
8 - 9 April 2026 | Wednesday - Thursday
The Green Energy Olympiad 2026 (GEO 2026) was organized as a nationwide youth-focused initiative to accelerate Bangladesh’s transition from fossil fuels to clean and renewable energy. The Olympiad was designed to engage and empower college and university students as future leaders, innovators, and advocates for a just, sustainable, and low-carbon energy system.
The Olympiad was structured to promote knowledge-building, critical thinking, and problem-solving on renewable energy, climate change, and energy transition pathways. All participants were ensured equal status and equal opportunity, while special priority was given to female students, Indigenous students, and Dalit students to promote inclusive and equitable participation.
Through this initiative, a new generation of climate-conscious and energy-literate youth was engaged, national discourse on clean energy was strengthened, and meaningful contributions were made toward shaping a just, inclusive, and sustainable energy future for Bangladesh.
